With roots in the sea,
shaped by the seasons

M/S Mira was founded in the early 1990s by Ingemar Granqvist. When he left his work as an engineer to become a full-time commercial fisherman, based in Fjällbacka, a life at sea began.

What started as a working vessel for fishing soon became a way of life — shaped by the sea, the changing seasons and generations of local knowledge. Norwegian lobster, lobster, brown crab, herring and mackerel have always been at the heart of the work.

From commercial fishing
to experiences on board

In 1999, Mira II joined the fleet. The vessel was certified for up to 30 passengers and made it possible to invite people out on the water — not as spectators, but as guests on board a real working vessel.

This marked the beginning of sharing the fisherman's life with visitors: tours through the archipelago, work on board and days that follow the conditions of the sea.

Sustainable fishing

Every pot and every catch with care

All fishing is done using sustainable methods, with a clear focus on pot fishing. It spares the seabed and makes it possible to carefully select the catch and release what should not be taken.

Rules and regulations are followed closely — not as restrictions, but as a natural part of responsible fishing. Respect for the sea is not a concept here. It is practice.

Mira is a fishing boat. That people want to come along — that is just a bonus.
