About us
We answer with stories, skill, and the salt spray of genuine maritime adventure
Rooted in the sea, shaped by season
M/S Mira was founded in the early 1990s by Ingemar Granqvist, when he left his career as a constructor to become a full-time fisherman. What began as a working fishing vessel soon became a way of life — shaped by the sea, the seasons, and generations of local knowledge. Crayfish, lobster, crab, herring, and mackerel have always been at the center of the work.

From working boat to shared experiences
In 1999, Mira II joined the fleet.
She is passenger-certified vessel for up to 30 guests, making it possible to invite people out on the water — not as spectators, but as guests aboard a real working vessel. This marked the beginning of sharing the fishing life with visitors: quiet trips through the archipelago, hands-on experiences, and days shaped by real conditions at sea.
Fishing with respect
All fishing is carried out using sustainable methods, with a strong focus on pot fishing.
This approach protects the seabed and allows for careful selection and release, ensuring healthy stocks for the future. Regulations are followed closely, not as limitations, but as a natural part of responsible fishing. Respect for the sea is not a concept here — it’s practice.

Fishing follows nature, not schedules
M/S Mira remains, first and foremost, a working fishing operation. Inviting guests aboard is an extension of that work — a way to share knowledge, craftsmanship, and life at sea without staging or exaggeration. What you see is what we do.
